Load Testing & Performance
Find out where the system breaks in a test environment — not during the campaign you spent three months preparing.
Can the system handle it? Nobody knows
Most teams’ honest answer is "I think so". Then Black Friday, the TV campaign or the viral post arrives, and the discovery happens the most expensive way possible: customers at the door and the site down. Measuring beforehand costs a fraction of that.
What is included
-
Realistic load scenarios
Simulating how real people behave, not a thousand identical requests that represent nothing.
-
The number that matters
How many concurrent users until it degrades and until it falls over. With charts and no fluff.
-
Bottleneck identification
Whether it is the database, the application, the network or the infrastructure. Profiling before optimizing saves weeks of work in the wrong place.
-
Database tuning
Missing indexes, bad queries, execution plans, connection pools. That is usually where the problem is.
-
Caching where it matters
Misplaced cache hides the problem and creates another. I point out where it pays off and where it is dangerous.
-
Report with an action plan
What to fix first, how much gain to expect and what can wait.
Why work with me
I use k6 for load testing and Jest for unit testing on systems that cannot go down, including financial platforms with traffic spikes. I have found bottlenecks that seemed to require a rewrite and were solved with an index.
Frequently asked questions
Do we need to stop the system to test?
No. Tests run in a separate environment that mirrors production. Testing in production only in very specific, agreed cases.
How long does it take?
An assessment with scenarios, execution and report usually takes one to two weeks. Fixing what is found is a separate scope.
What if the problem is the infrastructure?
Then the recommendation is about sizing, and you can often spend less by scaling on demand instead of keeping a big machine idle.
Do you fix it or just point it out?
Both. Some clients want the assessment for their internal team to execute; others prefer that I solve it. Both work.
